My Role: Graphic Designer

Media : Print Media

Industry: Social Awareness

The Solution

To ensure clarity and impact, I presented four design options to the client, maintaining a transparent design process. Each version focused on clear typography, culturally relevant visuals, and an intuitive information hierarchy. After finalizing the preferred design, I also submitted a video walkthrough to explain the rationale and ensure ease of use. The final pamphlet effectively balanced aesthetic appeal with functional messaging, making it a vital tool in spreading awareness and providing accessible information.

Key Learnings

Cultural Sensitivity is Crucial

Designing for a highly sensitive social issue requires a deep understanding of cultural context, local taboos, and communication barriers.

Visual Design Matters More Than Words

In communities with low literacy rates, iconography, colours, and symbols play a bigger role in conveying messages than text-heavy designs.

Transparency in Design Leads to Better Adoption

Giving multiple design options and involving stakeholders in the process ensured that the final design was well received.
